Congratulations Dan.  Some kind of pic would prove it!  We will understand if your participation on BTO diminishes somewhat.

First of all, thank you all so much! Today was a GREAT day!

I am stationed in New Mexico, but we decided to run off to Amarillo, Texas because her grandparents were married there along with her parents.
So we just added another generation.

I was VERY spoiled and very lucky to have such a low key and spontaneous wedding.
Casual would be an understatement. I was able to wear my cowboy boots, jeans, and a button up which makes me happy. I am not a tux guy.
Fun fact, the boots and jeans are the same ones I killed my big deer in

Anyways, we got into Amarillo and were cutting it VERY close to our appointment. We had to run to get our marriage license before we actually got married. So we had to do some running!

We got it signed, sprinted to the court house, and got to our appointment with a minute to spare.  :dance2:

My family is all in Massachusetts and Alyssa\'s family is where I am stationed and in Texas. To keep from hurting anyone\'s feelings, we only invited her grandparent to be our witness.

Then we surprised our family right after with phone calls

The justice of the peace was fantastic and did such a great job. To top things off she walked up to me and said \"military don\'t pay for services in my court\" and handed me my money back. I had a HUGE smile.

Then it got a little fun. I had secretly told her parents to meet us back at her grandparents house and timed it perfectly for when we were done.
We went back there, everyone was happy and surprised, then we went to Texas roadhouse for dinner.

Needless to say I was very pleased with how today turned out. :upthumb:

A girl who lets me hunt as much as I do and still puts up with me is a keeper  :upthumb:
My hunting trips will keep going strong  :train:

Congrats!

Very well done. I am extremely impressed by your \"style\" of getting married.

This likely means very little from a person who failed miserably at long term relationships, but here are 3 key things that I have found for all relationships whether it be family, friends or strangers. I call it the 3 Cs.
Communication
Compromise
Compassion (respect)

I wish you both the best.

Lead with your heart and turn off your brain & ego and life will be good for you both.

May you both have many years together.

Cheers!

Very cool Dan, I love the spontaneous aspect to it! Not many people would be willing to do something that \'crazy\'.

Thanks again everyone!

Cliff, our JOP was a ball. She really made the experience great.

Derek, we love being spontaneous, it\'s been something we\'ve been doing since day 1 and like John recommended, we plan on doing it the rest of our life.

mtnmutt, you hit home with that post. I\'ve met a lot of people in my life, but I\'ve never enjoyed talking with anyone as much as I enjoy talking with Alyssa. It\'s so easy, fun, and silly.

On top of that it\'s so easy for us to compromise. We are both very simple people and it doesn\'t take much for us to agree!

So with those two being in place, the last C just goes so smooth.

I\'m very excited for this journey. :upthumb:

Again, thank you everyone!
