I to have a Elk tag in Az this year and have been scouting. I just bring my day pack, but when I scout for my back country spots I always bring extra water and drop it at or close to area's that I will be later. That way i don't have to worry about water when the hunt starts.

Im planning OTC archery elk in either ID or CO. Thinking of a scouting trip 2nd or 3rd week of August

How do you stash your water? And what type of container do you like?
