Ok hears the deal. Ya'll pray for me and my wife since we are planning a road trip to Ft Jackson South Carolina to see our older grandson graduate from basis training and visit with some friends and family that live out that way... I have 2 weeks of rehab under my belt and 30 more to go...
If I survive this one :-D we might even try one in the other direction a bit later...
Leaving Monday...

What ever happed to the old countdown timer of years past??? Many years past I believe...

It would be kinda hard to have countdown timers for every state and every season wouldn't it...

Oh well I quit counting a while ago and look forward to the next day...

Stay strong Phil.

is 32% your EF?
Not exactly sure Jason. They just do what they call a lung function test when I go for an office visit. I get to breath normally for a short period of time and then blow thru a mouthp into a machine as hard and long as I can and then exhale as much as I can while they have a clip on my nose.
Last time doctor said it was down 8% to 10% from about 40% the prior visit.

Campfire / Old motor getting a bit more sluggest
« on: June 29, 2019, 08:23:13 PM »
I started out with a roaring V8. Then dropped a bit to a purring slant 6. And then to a sluggest inline 4. Well now the sluggest inline 4 has lost a cylinder and become a spitting 3...

Needless to say over the last 10 to 15 years I've gone from roaring (100%) to spitting (32%) when it come to lung capacity plus it's starting to effect my heart output...

Another 12 weeks of Cardio-Pulmonary rehab is being scheduled starting in July...

Deer season starts in October for me and I'll be there even if I have to crawl to my stand, if the good Lord sees fit....

Thank God for another year of hanging around and being a pest to so many different folks...

We've had an elk hunt here in Arkansas for a long time now.... I applied for a permit for a lot of those years up until I felt I wouldn't physically be able to do it... The draw odds are ridiculous.... Back when I was applying there were 20 permits and normally 40,000 to 50,000 applicants... I understand they have more permits available now and actually have some on site permits at the annual elk festival each year where you can put your name in a squirrel cage that day and have a chance of being drawn for 5 or so permits....

Old Homer had a reputation of always getting more fish than anyone else. The local warden was suspicious of him and decided to check up on him one day. He went undercover and ask Homer if he would take him fishing.

The next morning they got in the boat and rowed out in the middle of the lake. Then Homer reached in his tackle box, got out a stick of dynamite, lite the fuse and tossed it in the water. That is when the warden flashed his badge and proceeded  to arrest Homer. Now old Homer was no fool. He handed the warden a stick of dynamite and lite the fuse. Then he calmly said, " You gonna talk or are you gonna fish "!!!!!!!

General Elk Hunting / Re: Raghorn Defined
« on: March 28, 2019, 11:31:24 AM »
I thing raghorn is referring to the mass and length of the antlers not the number of points... A 5x5 can be either a raghorn or a good bull, in my opinion, if it has good tine length, a lot of mass and a wide spread... Same goes for a 6x6 and so on..
So I guess my definition of raghorn is not tall, not much mass and not very wide even though I've see tall and wide bull with very little mass but he's the one most all hunters would shoot but if left to age would be more than a skinny rack good elk...
And yep I've seen a tall and wide skinny racked bull I would have shot but only had a cow tag in my pocket....
