Classifieds / EXO K2 Packs
« on: October 09, 2020, 09:59:08 AM »
I have 2 EXO packs 2200 & 3500 and 1 K2 Frame in FirstLite fusion for sale. I also have a lid, 2 hip belt pouches and the add on meat shelf. The meat shelf is in Multicam. The 3500 pack has never been in the woods, the 2200 has been my go to day pack and has packed out 2 elk. You cant get these size packs anymore. I think these are the best carrying packs on the market and if you are a back country hunter who hunts with camp on his back you cant find a better pack. I hunt 90% from a from my camp trailer with a day pack. So I feel its best to sell them to someone wholl use them for their designed purpose. If youve wanted to have EXO packs heres your chance to save some cash. Im asking $600.00 delivered. Retail youd pay over $950.00. Save the extra $350.00 for your next hunt. I can take Venmo, PayPal, check or cash.

Campfire / Re: Big White Dogs
« on: August 21, 2018, 01:49:56 PM »
If I run into sheep herders I always make it a point to introduce myself and ask them about elk in the area. Last year I followed one as he came out on the road in front of me trailing 6 mules. About 300 yards behind them following their trail was a big black bear. I stopped by their camp and told them about the bear. Then I asked if they had seen any elk ( its elka ) in Spanish. They told me where they had seen some. I killed my bull in that area a few days later. The dogs can be bad news. They are raised with the sheep from the time they are puppies and beleave they are part of the herd. They are there for one thing protect the herd. They will kill wolves and cougars or anything else that threatens the herd. I avoid the dogs but the herders can be a great resource.

I believe Coreys clip is really a aluminum hook sewn into webbing. Hes had it for a long time and I can remember using one 20+ years ago. Here is a link to one similar on Amazon.

Hope this helps.

I have the space to shoot well over 100 yds but rarely do we get a perfectly open shot while hunting. That's why I like to mix it up and shoot with objects between me and the target.

I decided to make yesterday's cold bore shoot a little more interesting. It was shot from 40 yds off the back porch. The first pic shows the view from where it was shot and the 2nd is the result.

Hunting Gear / Re: Preferred camo brand/pattern???
« on: August 13, 2017, 05:32:54 AM »
I use to have Sitka which I loved and is great camo. But since I live in Idaho I decided 2 years ago to support Idaho companies so I sold the Sitka and bought all FirstLite. I also sold my Tenzing pack and bought EXO. I really like the FirstLite Fuison. I dress FirstLite head to toe. However I know you can kill bulls in jeans (and I have) but I feel it can't hurt to ware camo.

That's me and one of my boys.

I work nights so I don't sleep anyway. From last years pics and this year so far it seems they like this spot from 10-6:00. So it should work out to be a nice midday hunting spot if the morning does not pan out.
