Archery? Regular? Late? We hunted late season cow in 67 for years. Lots of good country up there. I believe 90% of the bear stories up there are just to keep people out. Lol

My 2 that I have confidence in to take to the field are the champ and all star. Last summer I picked up every diaphragm I could find. Hope the wife never finds out.... expensive suckers. This year I am not sure what I will do. I had all my top teeth removed on the first of April. I am still healing up. I tried to use my all star the other day with my denture... not going to happen.

I learned a few things. I have to find elk to kill elk. Maybe the 50 trucks sitting at one trailhead is a sign that they know more than me. Evidence by all the elk getting pulled out later in the day.
If I find elk in August, everyone else has also. Figure out where they will go after the first of September.
I need to step up my game before my son turns 12 in 4 years. I understand why the success rate is 10 percent. Its 25 percent homework and 50 percent experience in the woods. And another 25 percent dumb luck.
Conning someone into hunting with me would be a huge help
Im not bitter. I loved all 18 days in the woods, seeing deer, moose, coyotes, owls, etc. lots of great stories and memories.

Number 1 biggest lesson learned!!! Dont let my wife watch the news.....

I let fear rule my mountain life. I couldnt find a partner so I stayed hunting areas I felt safe. Probably why I didnt hear or see anything all bow season. FML...

Havent heard this year of any bear encounters. Its usually fairly common to see a lot of sign. What week are you going?

Goal? To get to the mountain as much as possible. Not to be a whinny bitch about having to hunt solo for the bow season.

Success? Creating opportunities and gain confidence for next year.

The list is huge. Need to figure out arrows. Come up with a plan of direction for where to hunt. Need a tent but if I dont I will sleep in my truck. Reread elk 101. More cardio work. More bow practice. More calling practice. Catch up on the honey due list. Go thru all my hunting gear to see what I am missing still..........crap!!!!

Hunt Planner / Wyoming tags....who drew?
« on: June 22, 2018, 02:43:37 PM »
I couldnt decide on a bull area so I put in for late season extra cow tag and am going to get a general tag for my bull. I drew my first choice for extra cow. Then on Monday the left over list comes out.

Decided I dont have time the 3rd tag.

Hunting Gear / Re: the humble SLINGSHOT
« on: June 18, 2018, 12:14:03 PM »
I got a slingshot last summer to try and drive the deer out of my yard. They started getting mean. They come running when my dog would come out of the house. I had enuf after they chances me back into the house. I stocked up on cherry bombs on the 4th of July. Slingshotting Cherry bombs at deer is fun. They still stare down my dog but from a distance now

Physical Conditioning / Re: lets discuss the BURPEE.
« on: June 16, 2018, 08:17:50 AM »
I do a extremely active job in the oilfield. We hiked 3000 vertical last days off with no issues at all. Im in the best shape of my life. I had a lite day at work the other day so I decided to do some burpees. It kicked my butt. I only did 25. I was sore for days. I really need to do more burpees
