September Newsletter from Elk101.com

Where did the summer go? I can’t believe elk seasons are opening all across the West over the next few days! Based on scouting reports and fall conditions, this elk season is showing some great potential. From the Team at Elk101.com, we’d like to sincerely thank you for the past year. From our beginning at less than 500 website visits in a month, to over 80,000 (!) views in the past 30 days, it has been an incredible ride. We have some exciting ideas for the next year and are always open to your suggestions and ideas as well.

For our Facebook fans, we’ve been teasing you with a Big Contest announcement, and we’ll get to that at the end of the newsletter… 🙂 If you aren’t a fan of Elk101.com on Facebook, get signed up fast! We’re going to be having some fun contests on Facebook in the coming days, as well as giving a few sneak peeks into our season as it progresses. Please invite all your friends to join as well, http://www.facebook.com/elk101.

Webisode #4 is now live at the website as well, https://www.elk101.com/webisodes/. Follow Elk101.com Pro Staff members Mark Cochran and Steve Chappell on exciting elk hunts in Idaho and Arizona.

OK, now the good stuff. For those of you who are new to Elk101.com, you’ll soon realize we like giving away really cool prizes. From our FREE Colorado elk hunt with Winterhawk Outfitters to our random contests and giveaways, we like to keep things FREE! Partnering with our great friends at Heads Up Decoy (http://www.headsupdecoy.com/), we are excited to announce our latest contest – The Elk101.com/Heads Up Decoy Video Contest.

In an effort to create more interaction with our friends who follow us at Elk101.com, we are looking for your elk hunting footage to share via Webisode with others! If you have some great footage of your elk hunt, either from this year or years past, we want to see it. Get your cameras rolling and if you manage to capture your hunt on video, it could be worth some great prizes! Useable footage will need to be around 8-10 minutes – scenery, camp, the set-up, the shot…the more filler/support footage you have, the better. Video format isn’t critical, we can transfer almost any format you provide. Original tapes are preferred and we’ll get them right back to you quickly after getting the footage transferred. All video submissions will need to be received by Nov. 10, 2010.
