A little snow would be awesome. Last year in AZ late season we got hammer by snow made it difficult to get on them, but finding them was a breeze.
Hope its not crazy whiteout.

Good luck, Im counting down to rifle opening. How they are bugleling then.  Seem to me they rut a little later every year.

Countdown begins for 2019 Elk. Did some early scouting for first rifle elk on Black Mesa. Its going to be a tough hunt, there is water and bears everywhere. Because of late snow, everything is overgrown and only saw elk down low by private property.



Has any one ever hunted it? Not looking for honey hole information or anything like that. Could use some guidance, crowded areas, elevations to hunt,  traditionally successful general map area. It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

any advice as to roads and camping. Ive never been to area it looks rough on Google Earth.
Plan to hike from a base camp (trailer) if possible.
