There are elk there. Get away from people. 90% of hunters hunt within one mile of the road. 10% of all hunters take 90% of all animals. Get in, go deep, know where you are at. Most important of all have fun. Elk hunting is not easy hunting.

There are a few spots to look at. Bowen gulch, gravel mountain, pony park, cabin creek, grouse mountain, east side of 128 just south of willow creek pass, devils canyon on the other side of monarch lake. Thats a lot to take in across the GMU. The elk will be where the elk will be. Pay attention there are many moose in this unit.

60 arrows last night in groups of six. Felt good last night, a little burn this morning. Progress!! :train:

Easy day. Yard work, mowed the lawns, shot 30 arrows inside a 2 dot @20 yds. 6 arrows for each round. Totally working on form.

30 arrows @ 40, 50, and 60 yards. Working on form to repeat with accuracy.

20 more arrows holding as long as possible and settling before each release.

You hang in there Phil and keep making every moment count.

Went up to middle park Thursday evening with a friend. Met his guide and stayed the night in their cabin up on the Troublesome. Spent yesterday pulling Lakers out of Williams Fork with them. Now have new friends and more options for the future. Sun burned and full upper body work out for sure.

Block target, new arrows, bow set @70# and a day when finally it is not raining..., little sore but all good.

If you want to hunt 171 you may look just north of willow creek pass on the east side of the highway.

Jason for your deer you may consider GMU 10 3rd season. You have enough points. 10 tags total, 6 for residents, 4 for out of state. 100% success rate for the last many years. I used my points last year on a nice 7x7 muley.

Waxed the string on the Hoyt. Screwed on the slick tricks and started shredding the block target. Two and a half months to archery season.  :train:

You will not regret the wall tent at all. Your grand kids will thank you when they inherit it.
